Chapter 3:
That night, Flippy had a tough time going to sleep. Time elapsed as he stared at the dark ceiling. He uncomfortably shifted around in his bed. What was bugging him so much? "It couldn't possibly my date with Flaky... could it?" He wondered, forcing his eyes to close. It wasn't easy, but eventually he drifted off into sleep.
---
It had been a cold winter night. Fireflies danced in the deep blue sky, and only the sound of crickets chirping could be heard. Flaky snuggled up close to him for warmth. He flung his arm around her shoulder, ignoring the quills that brought sharp pain. She giggled softly. All of a sudden she got serious and asked in a calm voice "You know what would make this night even more perfect?" Flippy shot her a confused glance. Could it possibly get better than it already was? "What?" Flaky leaned in and slightly puckered her lips. Flippy then understood what was happening. He did the same, and closed his eyes. But strangely, he did not feel Flaky's warm lips on his. When his eyelids rose up, he saw an orange flame, flickering every so often. Squinting, Flippy made out the shape of a person that laid in the middle, turning crisp and burnt. It took him a while, but Flippy finally realized what had occurred. "I flipped out when we were about to kiss and somehow I lit Flaky on fire... but how?" It was then that he looked down to see a bunch of matches scattered in the grass. "T-that's impossible! I'm cured, no doubt about it!" He exclaimed. "You think that you can get rid of me that easily? Well, here's reality; I'm not giving up without a fight." Someone hissed inside of his head.
---
Flippy awoke, panting. He could feel his heart pound against his chest. In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if it exploded right this second. Was Evil really still there? "No..." He thought. "After all, it was just a dream."
---
The next morning, Flippy was strolling by buildings when something caught his eye. "From 8:00-12:00, Free buffet! Eat all you want within that time period!" A sign displayed in the window of a restaurant read. "Yeah, he'll be here all right." He thought, pushing open the glass door. Of course, Disco bear was hitting on a waitress. She looked irritated, then snapped "Here's your food!" She placed a stack of pancakes in front of him, then stomped away. Disco bear stabbed the pancake on the top and opened up his mouth wide. Flippy scooted into the leather section, just across from DB. He took a big bite out of his pancake, then sneered "What do you want?" Flippy stiffened up his back. "Um... there's this girl that I like... and we have a date coming up, so-" "Oh, I get it." DB interrupted. "You want tips on how to flirt with the ladies, right?" Flippy nodded. "Alright, but let me ask you some questions first. Have you kissed her yet?" "What? No... this is our first date. Why would you-" "Did you put the moves on her yet and told her that you love her?" "No, I-" "Have you ever raped the girl?" "She'd think that I'm a pervert!" Flippy protested. "Well, aren't you?" DB asked, washing his food down with some milk. "I'm leaving." The veteran announced, getting out of his seat. "Whatever, man!" DB called, with food stuffed in his mouth.
