Science Fair Madness (HTF)

One day in a place called "Happy Tree Town", most of the citizens were gathered in a school auditorium for the annual 'Science fair'. Sniffles had won every year with the projects he displayed. Giggles and Petunia teamed up to make a model volcano with lava being able to squirt out of it. Cuddles and Toothy had planted 3 cactus plants and tested how they grew with water, milk and juice. But Flaky just stayed at the other side of the auditorium... aware that something tragic would happen. There were quite a few people who got invited... Russel, Pop (who brought Cub), Giggles' Mom, Handy and Flippy (Who's the genius that keeps inviting Flippy to events like these? :D). Lumpy was the judge to decide who would win. He went over to see the volcano first. As Petunia explained what their project was and why they did it, Giggles prepared the volcano's lava. When Petunia finished, Giggles pressed a big red button on the remote that lead to the volcano. Nothing happened. She tried again. Still no effect. Lumpy yawned. Petunia snatched the remote and started pressing the button a bunch of times. Giggles peeked into the volcano. Suddenly, the lava squirted up and splashed against her face. Screaming, she stumbled backwards into a table with another contestant's ant farm flying off of it. The dirt and all of the ants landed on Petunia's fur. Being a major clean-freak like her, she panicked and started searching for something to wash the dirt off. The ants also bit her a lot, causing the pain for Petunia to grow worse. Handy watched the scene and decided to call 911. He rushed over to a pay phone, but then he realized the he didn't have any arms, so it would be useless to try and call for help. Handy had on his usual 'frustrated' look. Giggles' mom cried over her daughter as her face burned to ashes. Sniffles immediately spotted the ants when they crawled off of Petunia. Due to the ant bites, she swelled up like a balloon and laid on the floor. Licking his lips, Sniffles scooped the ants up with his tongue and swallowed them down. Not realizing that they were fire ants, he suddenly felt a stinging feeling coming from his stomach. Curiously, he looked down with a small "Huh?". The ants bit through his skin and muscle and created a hole in his chest and stomach area. Sniffles yelped as blood oozed out of his body. Lumpy, being clumsy as always, slipped on the left over lava on the floor and bumped into Cuddles and Toothy's display. The three of them screamed before they all got hit with a cactus. Blood splattered on the floor when Cuddles and Toothy fell. Pop shoved a quarter into the pay phone's 'coin-slot' and dialed 9-1-1. While he got distracted, Cub wondered around the room, and crawled under one of the tables. Thinking that he was playing hide and seek, Cub giggled, but then the table started to shake. One of the table's legs broke. So did another one. Cub shrieked, but it was no use when the table squished him flat. Pop payed no attention to his son and tried to get help over the phone. Calm elevator music played while he waited impatiently. Russel noticed that the lava had made a huge flame and was now burning down the whole display. "YAR!" He shouted, picking up random items and throwing them into the fire, hoping that it would at least go down. One of the things he threw was corn, but nobody knew that until popcorn started shooting everywhere. It knocked Russel in the head, while the other kernels hit Pop and Handy. Flippy saw that the last person (besides him) remaining was Flaky. She looked too scared to move. Flippy ran over to Flaky, grabbed her hand and rushed her to safety. Both of them hid behind one of the tables. While trying to avoid getting hit by popcorn kernels (some went through the legs of the table), Flippy's eyes grew wide. He had a sudden flashback of when he was in a life or death situation back in the army days. Flippy started whimpering, which concerned Flaky. She knew that he might go insane like he always did, and that wouldn't be good... especially right now. Flippy's eyes turned a green-goldish color, his voice got deeper than it usually was and his teeth sharpened to form a menacing grin. He started chuckling a little, then looked around him. Flaky started to shake. She was afraid of him when he was like this... Flippy knew about her fear and decided to take advantage of it. He pulled out his bowie knife and growled real low-like. Flkay squealed, then managed to get away from the blood-thirsty maniac. That's when the popcorn stopped popping. Still grinning, Flippy chased Flaky around with the knife, ignoring her pleads for help.
