~Chapter 2: The entrance
Tails and his horse got deeper into the woods. The skies become dark. The hooting of an owl was heard. The horse gets a little startled. "Shh... it's alright." Tails said in attempt to sooth the horse. The path broke into two ways. One way had a sun set sky and you could hear small birds chirping their happy songs. The other way was stormy, where all of the trees were dead. His horse started going the more calm way, but Tails pulled at the reins. "We need to go the other way. It's a short cut!" He said, traveling into the dark part of the woods. There was a creepy silence going on. Until... Tails heard barking in the distance. He looked behind the trees to see a pack of blood-thirsty wolves, going after him and the horse. They started going faster and the chase began. His horse screeched to a halt, now noticing that they were about to go off of a tall cliff.Quickly, they turned around the other way before the wolves caught up with them. The growling and snarling got closer. It scared the horse so badly, it knocked Tails off the saddle. His horse ran away in fear of the big dogs. The wolves now had Tails as their target. Panicking, he spotted an eerie gate as an entrance for a large castle. Tails pushed open the gate doors and slammed them behind him. He sighed of relief when the wolves stopped there. Tails knocked on the large doors of the castle. Nobody answered. Carefully, he slid one of the doors open and walked inside. The rain had made his yellow fur soaked and cold. Thunder roared from outside. "There's a visitor!" "SHHH! He'll hear you!" Tails heard the voices from somewhere in the room. "Is anyone there?" He asked, looking around in the dark. Tails spotted a candle and a clock sitting next to each other. He picked up the candle for light. "Hello?" His voice echoed in the castle. "Hi." Someone said. "Who's there?" Tails replied. "Um... I'm in your hand." He looked at the candle to see that it had a face. "Oh... Wow!" He exclaimed, putting it down. "You won't supposed to do that, moron!" The clock hissed at the candle. "Don't be rude! It's the first guest we've had in years, so zip it!" The candle said. "Um... I'm sorry to intrude here or anything, but-" Tails was cut off when he sneezed. "Aw... you have a cold! Well, you're welcome to sit by the fire if you want to." The candle offered, pointing to the fireplace. "Oh, thank you!" Tails exclaimed, rushing over to a chair near the fire. "You idiot! What happens if the master finds out?!" The clock shouted. "Don't worry about it." The candle said, watching Tails sit down. A stool started to jump and chirp "Chao! Chao!" Tails laughed softly. "Hey little guy..." He said, petting the stool. A cart came up to him. "Would you like some tea, good sir?" The teapot asked politely. "Oh, uh... No thank-you." Tails told her. Suddenly, a door busted open. A beastly shadow was seen on the floor, clashing with the rug. A low growl was heard. "You let a stranger in here?!" The monster yelled fiercely. "But sir, you don't understand-" "I understand that there's an intruder in my castle!" He interrupted. Tails was shivering out of fear. He looked to the right. Nothing. He looked to the left to see a werehog glaring at him. "So, you've come to look at the beast, have you?" It asked him. "N-no! Please don't kill me!" Tails stammered, getting up. As the other watched in terror, the werehog picked up the young yellow fox.
