Escaping Eggman Part 4 ch 1:

Chapter 1:
Hopeful
(4 years later) (Sonic's POV)
The months really flew by. Our 4 year old daughter, Midnight, can talk now, and she has red highlights at the tips of her quills (Maybe she has been handing around Shadow too much ...XP). Our new daughter, who is only 1 month old, is a dark purple color with light green eyes named Sonia.

(1 week later)
Amy wiped a tear from her eye. "Good-bye, Sonniku." She said with a quick peck on my cheek. "Daddy..." I looked down to see Midnight staring at me with big pleading eyes. "When are you coming back?" She asked. The last thing I wanted to do was brake the spirit of a 4 year old. "Um... I'm not sure. I got called in to tracking down a villain with Uncle Tails and Uncle Knuckles... I think I might be back in a few months." I told her. "Okay. Bye-bye, Daddy!" I knelt down on my knees to hug Midnight one last time. "We're gonna miss you." She whispered in my ear.

(6 years later) (Amy's POV)
It was spring cleaning day! I was dusting the shelves, when I came across a picture. It was of my blue hedgehog husband (AN/: That sounds weird, doesn't it? xD!). I sighed, staring into his calm green eyes. I touched the frame. "Why won't you come back?" That question haunted me every minute of everyday. I put the picture down, walking onto the upstairs balcony. Midnight was there, looking at the colors of the sunset. "What's wrong, honey?" I asked her. She was silent for a moment. Then she said, "When is Dad going to come back?" I didn't answer. How could I respond to that, if I didn't even know myself? "I'm really not sure..." I finally whispered. "He's not coming back, is he?" She asked."Midnight-" "Listen to me! He has been gone for a few years, we lost contact will him 2 years ago, and he's never seen his own son!" She was referring to her little 2 year old hedgehog brother, Speedy. "But that doesn't mean you can loose faith in his return!" I exclaimed. "Forget it! I knew you wouldn't understand!" Midnight snapped at me, stomping off to her room. For a 10 year old girl, she sure had the 'sass' of a teenager. Once Midnight was convinced by something, there was no hope on changing her mind. "MAMA! I'm tired! Read me a bed time story!" Sonia shrieked. "Coming, Sonia!" I called back, grabbing 'The princess and the pea' book off the table, rushing to Sonia's room.
